What's coming up...

... photos of a completed table runner, if the sun ever shines again. It will be a wedding gift & I love it, even if I've personally never used a table runner before in my life. It's pretty!

I am currently working on a commissioned quilt for Little Miss M.  After the quilt (& pillows!) are all finished up, I think I will start on something new I've been thinking on. A solids only 'plus' quilt that I might want to turn it on it's side, which would make it an 'x' quilt (?). Either way, I am thinking lots of greens, with greys & purples thrown in. Nothing is set in stone yet...my sketches are more colourful than I was envisioning, so we'll see what happens. Later, when I get to it!

Quilt for Baby

Meet Miranda. She's my nine year old niece & she's going to be a big sister! Good time to learn to sew, yes?

She pieced the quilt top together..

She did some of the quilting too!

A finished quilt made with Spring Street fabrics, chosen by Miranda

The back - cute street scene

mmm...binding!

This one needed a label

"Awww! I can't wait for the baby to get here!"

Awesome job Miranda...let me know when you're ready for another one! Love you!

Bee Block Finished

A little while back, I received this cute little scrap bundle from sew fresh fabrics ... my mission, to make a 12.5" square block & mail it back. Once they have all the blocks, they will be pieced & quilted & sent away to this charity. The finished quilt will be given to a person suffering from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

I wanted to get started on my block right away, but instead, I popped over to the flickr group showcasing the finished blocks from other participants. I immediately felt intimidated! Finally, I started cutting & sewing & ironing yesterday. After some worry that I was ruining all the scraps given to me, I kept going and.... I kind of like the finished product. That 'sleeping beauty' was an obvious choice for some fussy cutting & everything happened from there. Not the way i usually do things, but hey, it was only one block & I figured I couldn't mess up that badly. And I didn't...yay!
